World Cup Break
I will be taking a break from reading until July 9th when the World Cup is officially over. In the meantime, please visit my other blog (update: That blog has been deleted…) where I will continue to blog. It’s going to be mostly about the FIFA World Cup. That’s a warning for all you avid anti-football protestors! But of course, there’s nothing I can do to stop you from visiting my other blog and commentating on how football is better than golf… Please. Golf? Psshhh! Golf is in a league of its own when it comes to sports that can bore you to death.
Okay, enough of this chit-chat. I love reading guys, but I love football more! So, while I’m on a reading break, why don’t you guys try to catch up to me? I’ve probably read more books since the time I started this blog than you have in your lifetime!
I’m awfully mean today aren’t I? /d^_^b\

Heh heh, you’re sassy for sure, i think i’ll drop by here again.
What am I reading now?
I found a couple of books in my local library by W.Somerset Maugham – one of the earliest books I read as a child was one by him – The Painted Veil. It was one of these old Penguin covers – the faded orange and yellowed paper really caught my imagination – i can date my fascination with old-ish books from that time. the smell of the paper.. ANyhow, these two i found – Vol. 3 of his short story collection, featuring Ashenden a British spy during the First World War, and the second one- Up at the Villa – set in Florence just after the 2nd World War. Ashenden sound like an interesting character, apparently Ian Fleming’s Bond was inspired by him to some degree..apparently.

I am personally fond of mysteries. The old types like AGatha Christie. However, it’s becoming harder for me to find any good mystery books that are a comparable read to Christie’s. Any suggestions?
